Long Island, Bahamas: Clearance Town, Long Island, Bahamas; We love Long Island, Bahamas. For its nature, its kind locals & it is unspoiled by commercialism. Long Island is 80mi long and slender w/only 1 major road, Queens Hwy running N to S. The Atlantic Ocean, on the E side is known for its deep blue rough currents. The Caribbean Ocean, on the W side is blessed with Aqua Blue translucent calm seas known for its white soft sand and is where we fell in love with our home site. Finally, my husband & I have been dreaming to build this cottage for the past 4yrs. We have experienced loads heart ache, numerous failed attempts & many disappointments to get into; however, with old fashioned hard work, lots of elbow grease & a good deal investigation coupled w/our desires & determination to have our cottage built on an extremely rural island we are finally getting our cottage under way April 7th, 2011. Absolutely every item, inside & out, small to major, must be shipped to the island! In closing, my husband & I join you to watch us build our cottage with all joys, laughter’s, tough sticky situations, obstacles & unknown events that we will certainly encounter; while working from across the globe.
